I – Ice

This post is part of the A-Z challenge, a blog challenge where you post everyday through April and visiting other blogs too. You don’t need to read my posts in any specific order, jump in when and where you want and learn some Swedish on the way.

‘Ingen ko på isen.’

There is no cow on the ice

One more animal ‘Swedish Silly Saying’ this time it is a cow, or rather the avoidance of putting a cow on the ice.
This means that everything is all right, there is nothing to worry about. The cow is not on the ice, because, of course, if there was a cow on the ice, that would be trouble. Logic, right?

I imagine Disney’s Bambi on ice but camouflaged as a cow, legs and tail going all over the place. Something to worry about indeed.

This is a very specific state of “all right” to a rural region with cold winters. LOL.

I love that saying! Very funny 😉

This one just screams Sweden to me. I can imagine one of my uncles saying just this thing.
